It is easy to apply using a fertilizer spreader. Gypsum is a natural mineral that does not modify the pH of soil. Calcium serves as an essential building block for creating bridges between clay and humus (clay-humus complex), thereby improving soil structure. As for sulphates, they are absorbed by plants directly, providing them with the sulphur they need.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #6d0f18;\"><strong>Sulphur and plant health:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\">Sulphur is a key plant nutrient<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Sulphur is essential for the synthesis of sulphur-containing amino acids, such as cysteine and methionine, and therefore vital for protein biosynthesis in general<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Sulphur helps boost the efficiency of nitrogen use<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Sulphur is important in the formation of sulphur-containing secondary plant metabolites (such as glucosinolate in oilseed rape)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">Sulphur is a component of vitamin B1 (component of cereal grains, legumes)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">The symbiotic nitrogen fixation process requires a sufficient supply of sulphur<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong><span style=\"color: #6d0f18;\">Sulphur deficiency in plants means:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">Plants cannot use nitrogen efficiently<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">Nitrogen circulation within plants is blocked<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">The nitrogen-to-sulphur ratio and nitrate levels in plants increase<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">Lower nodulation and nitrogen fixation rates in plants<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #6d0f18;\"><strong>The role of sulphur in the soil:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">Sulphur is generally available in organic form in the soil<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1 translation-block\">After mineralization, sulphur is generally absorbed as a sulphate ion(SO<sub>4<\/sub> <sup>2<\/sup>), which is water soluble and leaches in soil, like nitrates prone to leaching, similar to nitrates<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">The capillary action pushing water up from the subsoil can increase sulphate levels around plant roots (in deep soils, e.g. loess and loam soils)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1 translation-block\">A blend of natural gypsum and anhydrite such as that found in our <\/span><span style=\"color: #6d0f18\">Minerosul 40\u00ae<\/span> fertilizer releases part of its sulphate content quickly, and the rest more slowly over time.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #6d0f18;\"><strong>Where sulphur deficiency occurs:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">In lighter soils and shallow soils, especially during periods of heavy rainfall<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\">\n<p class=\"p1\">In cold climates because of less biological activity in the soil<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1 translation-block\">Our <span style=\"color: #6d0f18\">Minerosul 40\u00ae<\/span>\u00a0fertilizer has a sulphate content of over 40%.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column_inner][\/et_pb_row_inner][et_pb_row_inner _builder_version=&#8220;4.16&#8243;
