High-quality products as well as occupational health and safety and environmental protection are equally important corporate goals for us. 

We strive for occupational safety on a daily basis through organisational, educational and technical measures. We pay particular attention to prevention and are guided by the principles of DIN ISO 45001. We record our working environment on a daily basis, analyse it for potential hazards and initiate the necessary improvement measures directly. 
We strive to protect the environment every day. 
We strive for health protection through continuous prevention and also through focal topics. These are usually based on the key topics of our employers' liability insurance association. 

Gipsbergbau Engel GmbH maintains its own mine rescue service for all three areas and to provide assistance in hazardous and emergency situations. As part of its drills, this team regularly simulates and trains in hazardous and emergency situations as well as rescue operations in accordance with the guidelines of the German Committee for Mine Rescue Services.

Mine defence

The mine rescue team at Gipsbergbau Engel GmbH consists of two heads of operations and two small teams. These each comprise three mine rescue team members. There is an emergency plan/self-rescue concept for possible incidents in accordance with the „Guidelines of the Central Mine Rescue Service of the Mining Employers“ Liability Insurance Association for the organisation, equipment and deployment of mine rescue teams".  The equipment also complies with these guidelines. It is kept ready for use in a specially equipped room.

Gipsbergbau Engel GmbH and other nearby underground mining operations have concluded assistance agreements in coordination with the main centre responsible for mine rescue services. Mine rescue drills are held regularly with the participation of the rescue services.
